A large handsome, vigorous, spreading deciduous tree with conspicuous clusters of yellow flowers on bare stems in April. These are followed by outstanding deeply lobed leaves which open bright red turning to rich dark crimson. Excellent autumn colouring. TREE 25ft x 15ft (7.6m x 4.6m) in 20 years, ultimate height 40ft (12m) or more.
