A naturally occurring hybrid between Whitebeam and Mountain Ash, with long lobed leaves with free leaflets at the base, glossy dark green above and grey and hairy beneath, turning warm yellow brown in autumn. In late spring bears 5 inch (13cm) dense clusters of small white flowers followed by arching clusters of large, bright red berries in autumn. TREE 20ft x 15ft (6m x 4.6m) in 20 years, ultimate height 45ft (14m).
