A strong, healthy beetroot with smooth-skinned, dark red roots and quality foliage. Can be used as 'baby beets' or larger mature roots. Stand well in condition through the summer. Later sown beets also store well, keeping their flavour right into the winter. Harvest June to October Sowing Instructions. Sow March to July. Sow thinly, 1cm (½ inch) deep in drills 30cm (12 inches) apart.Prefers well-drained, moist, rich, cool conditions. Growing Instructions. Thin seedlings to 5cm (2 inches) apart when large enough to handle. Later thinnings will be suitable for using in salads. Harvest when roots reach about 4cm (1 1/2 inches) in diameter or more. The smaller the root the better the quality. Aftercare Instructions. Beet can be stored by lifting the remaining roots; twist off the tops and store in boxes of slightly damp sand in frost-free conditions.
