A tasty winter salad vegetable which can even be picked with snow on the ground. The succulent leaves are a staple ingredient for winter salads. Crops in 50 Days.
Sowing Instructions. Sow at fortnightly intervals from late summer to late autumn in a sunny position and well drained soil which is in good heart. Sow in drills 12mm (½in) deep and 15cm (6in) apart. Water the young plants during dry spells.
Growing Instructions. Thin out when large enough to handle to 10cm (4in) apart.
Aftercare Instructions. To harvest first pull up every other plant and then pick a few of the outer leaves from the remaining plants.
