A British bred, good coloured pointed cabbage suitable for use as both greens and hearted greens all the year round. Stands well in condition without bolting. Harvest all year as greens or hearted greens.
Sowing Instructions. Sow February to March under glass for transplanting. Sow March to July outdoors, or late September for overwintering. For earliest crops sow in February in seedtrays or pots of good seed compost at about 15C (59F), under glass or in a propagator. Outdoors, sow thinly in a prepared seedbed 1-2cm (½ to ¾in) deep. Can also be sown thinly in a broad drill and left unthinned if greens are required. Keep well watered and cover with fine netting to deter birds and cabbage caterpillar attack.
Growing Instructions. Transplant when large enough to handle into well prepared, firm soil allowing 15x15cm (6x6in) for greens and 38x25cm (15x10in) for hearted. Plant firmly with lower leaves just above soil level. Water well until established.
Aftercare Instructions. Prefers a rich, well drained soil.
