T&M Seeds Annuals (Half-Hardy R-Z) :

Rudbeckia hirta Prairie Sun

An impressive debut for beds and borders, this unique new plant was awarded a Fleuroselect Gold Medal. The unusual blooms with central green cones and bright orange petals radiating back to lemon yellow, make dazzling cut flowers.

Sowing Instructions. Sow February to March at 20-25C (68-77F) on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Apply a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Do not exclude light at any stage, as this helps germination.

Growing Instructions. Transplant, when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3 inch) pots. Grow on in cooler conditons for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12 inches) apart.

Aftercare Instructions. Prefers a well drained soil in full sun. Flowers late summer to autumn.
