A superb garden poppy. Sprinkle the seed amongst low growing shrubs for a spectacular and contrasting effect. Create groups in the border or sow it in a line close against the wall or fence to form a backdrop. Ideal too for wild gardens. Flowers summer. Height 60-90cm (24-36in).
Sowing Instructions. Sow early spring to early summer or autumn outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Scatter the seed and rake in lightly.
Growing Instructions. When large enough to handle, remove any seedlings which are too close to each other so that they are 15-30cm (6-12in) apart.
Aftercare Instructions. They prefer a sunny open site but will grow in most sites and soils. For the longest flowering period and to prevent self seeding remove the seed pods as the petals fall.
