A large, bushy, native deciduous shrub with glossy, dark green leaves which turn red in autumn. When bearing the half inch (1 cm) wide red fruits, which turn black in autumn, this shrub is very attractive. The fruits provide good food for birds. Any soil but likes marshy ground.
