As so many gardens have a problem area where ground cover would
be desirable we are offering a range of plants which will establish
rapidly to form an attractive carpet of foliage, interspersed with
flowers in some varieties. These plants will not only enhance the
appearance of your garden but also decrease the amount of weeding
needed provided that all perennial weeds are removed from the area
before planting is done. Plant in groups of at least 3 or 5 plants of the same specie for the best effect.
POSITION All plants listed will grow in a sunny or partially
shady position but those which will grow well under other conditions
are noted.
SIZE The approximate sizes quoted apply to height or spread
as appropriate if left unpruned. Many plants can be pruned regularly
to restrain their size.
SIZES OFFERED In the case of some ground cover plants, no
size is quoted as they die down whilst dormant.
SOIL Unless otherwise stated the plants listed will all
grow in any reasonable soil.
TRANSPLANTED A plant, when transplanted, has been lifted
from the ground and replanted. In doing so the root structure is
broken, which encourages a better fibrous root system and makes
the plant stronger and bushier.
AVAILABILITY We can only sell bare-rooted plants (listed
Sd, Br or Tr - see Key) when they are dormant
(depending on the weather this is normally between November and
late March). We don't charge your credit card for goods until they
are about to be despatched. We still have a wide range of pot grown
and a new range of cell-grown plants
available for despatch or collection.
